Met up with Boards forumers and fellow Loop Virgins Billyboy, Henryscat and Chaos at the Ham. We had thought about going to Hove where the waves would be better, but with more SW than W in the wind, Shoreham seemed to be the better bet since it would be more cross-shore there.

Arrived around 12.30pm, just as the tide was beginning to drop away from the groynes. Started with the 5.2....doh! Stupidly overpowered. So changed down to the 4.5, fully downhauled, and was fine for the rest of the session. Proper maxed out....but fine.

NO LOOPS. :( Only had one ramp where I should have gone for it. Rest of the time, just no real waves to speak of, the usual messy chop instead. All just lame excuses really I know, but feel I do need small 1-2 foot waves breaking evenly and consistently on a sandbar such as at Hayling or Avon to be able to prepare myself properly to go for them.

Anyway....all good apart from that. A solid bonkers windy session, much windier than forecast and expected. Lack of waves meant there was nothing particularly exciting about it, just relentless fully powered up charging around. 4 hours on the water, now I'm shagged. :@

As I was driving back along the Brighton sea-front, couldn't help but notice several sets of half-decent nice sized waves rollling in to the beach. Hove would have been the better choice....oh well, next time.

More tomorrow hopefully. Thumbs up for these windy weekends!
